Looking for a great opportunity to join a solid global organization that continues to grow year over year?  Our client is looking for a seasoned Sourcing Manager with at least 10 years experience operating at a strategic level to drive improvement across multiple sites. 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

This position reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing and will provide you with the responsibilities of: 

  • Developing sourcing strategies across a wide range of commodities and implementing solutions that reduce cost for the entire organization
  • Developing methods for scanning and selecting suppliers
  • Analyzing the spend and other supplier information to develop the long range strategy for each commodity.
  • Using the metrics for suppliers as well as internal performance, using the data to drive improvement and reduce the total cost of ownership
  • Assessing the risk in each commodity category, ensuring there is adequate supplier competition and that suppliers are stable
  • Developing systems and processes to ensure all functions are working collaboratively and communication is constant and consistent
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are followed and continually updated as improvements are made
  • Developing supplier agreements, negotiating cost and implementing contracts
  • Evaluating the skill level of the group and ensuring training is provided to build a high performing team
  • Developing a long range strategic sourcing plan and leading the budget preparation
  • Presenting and communicating procurement performance data to all levels
  • Ensuring the procurement group is meeting or exceeding the plan and making adjustments as necessary
  • Drive consistency and best practices across sites, communicate results
  • Communicate changes to regulations and compliance issues
  • Implementing a commodity based purchasing strategy that will leverage commodity spending
  • Building and developing relationships with multiple functions across sites and ensuring the procurement strategies support the overall company strategies 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred
  • 15 years experience in procurement, 10 years in a strategic sourcing position
  • CPM or CPIM (or similar accreditation) strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong background in contract writing and review
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and statistical skills are required.
