POSITION DESCRIPTION 

This position reports to the VP of Operations and will provide you with the responsibilities of:

  • Managing the daily schedule to ensure each part is made per the customer specifications/ISO requirements and ships on time
  • Adjusting the schedule based on orders and ensuring each shift understands what they need to make and when it needs to ship
  • Working with Operators, Leads and Supervisors to ensure they understand how to make the components and how to measure them per the quality plan
  • Working with Sales and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure all new work is set up properly and all documentation is accounted for
  • Ensuring all work is being performed in a safe and effective manor
  • Submitting and managing the budget to ensure plant performance is on target – making adjustments as necessary
  • Ensuring the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is being performed and there is a high sense of urgency to keep capital equipment in an optimal working condition
  • Implementing lean principles and teaching lean techniques
  • Developing goals and objectives, communicating with the team and engaging the team in continually improving every aspect of the business
  • Leading, motivating and developing the skills of the group consisting of 30 – 40 employees
  • Developing the long range strategy including capital equipment expenditures and headcount

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

An excellent candidate with have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Must have 5 years of experience leading a CNC precision machining operation
  • Bachelors degree required – Manufacturing Engineering background preferred
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining equipment and tooling
  • A working knowledge of ISO Quality Systems requirements along with Production Part Approval Processes
