Looking for a great opportunity to apply your outside sales experience to grow business in the Central Midwest and nationally? We are looking for a high energy Sales Manager that is well connected and has a strong background in selling complex machined components.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the General Manager and will provide you with the responsibilities of:
- Identifying and establishing new customers and expanding business nationally
- Selling the capabilities of a precision machining operation
- Managing the sales process from quoting to delivery
- Developing the sales call plan and executing the plan throughout each week
- Working from your office in the plant and traveling frequently to existing and potential customer sites
- Working with customers to understand each quote request and provide value added assistance to reduce cost and optimize the design for manufacturability
- Managing relationships and growing business with existing customers by providing exceptional customer service
- Working with internal resources to prepare all information needed for quoting in a timely manor
- Communicating with customers on the status of their projects
- Preparing sales forecasts with projected volume for each customer
- Keeping up to date with the capabilities and technology available and communicating with customers on new developments
- Managing profit margins on new and existing business – adjusting pricing as necessary
- Ensuring the customer is treated with a high sense of urgency if any issues arise and following up to make sure the proper corrective actions have been implemented
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering or technical discipline desired or equivalent industry experience
- Five years experience required in a technical sales field with direct experience selling machined components
- Ability to understand complex blue prints and manufacturing processes
- An understanding of the tooling required to produce the product
- Working knowledge of quality systems, PPAP and quality metrics
- Strong communication skills
- Up to 75% travel may be required
