Quality Assurance Manager 

Looking for a great opportunity to apply your quality management experience with a growing manufacturer in Eastern Wisconsin?  Our client is looking for a proven quality expert with strong a process improvement background who can transform this operation to a world class level.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will provide you with the responsibilities of: 

  • Working with customers to ensure pre-production quality requirements are understood and an internal plan is in place to manage quality standards of the product
  • Providing quality performance data to shop floor and senior management employees – using the data to drive the continual improvement efforts
  • Developing a strategic quality improvement plan and engaging all employees in quality improvement activities
  • Working with the customers to ensure improvement efforts are addressing their biggest issues – continue to build the relationships
  • Participating in the quoting process to ensure quality gauging and control plans are considered in the quote
  • Managing the department budget, personnel and equipment needs
  • Managing the ISO 9000:2001 quality system to ensure compliance through procedure updates, auditing and training
  • Driving the corrective action process to ensure the short term issue is fixed and also drive long term systemic improvement – holding people accountable
  • Providing training in quality systems for new and existing employees
  • Overseeing day-to-day quality issues taking the appropriate corrective actions
  • Develop and implement process control methods to improve capability
  • Monitor and drive improvement with raw material suppliers 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • At LEAST 5 years in a Quality Management role
  • ASQ certification desired
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in the paper converting, printing or film industry
  • Ability to develop a long range plan, budgets, personnel needs and capital needs
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards and SQF standards
  • Previous experience working with a union
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead improvement teams
