Packaging Engineering Manager 

Looking for a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing manufacturing company with a core competency in product development?  We are looking for a seasoned Package Engineering Manager with upward mobility that has experience leading Engineers and continuing to grow the organization to a world class level!

JOB DESCRIPTION 

This position reports to the Global Product Development Manager. 

  • Managing the Global Packaging Engineering team. 
  • Representing Engineering and providing input on the product planning team. 
  • Researching and recommending packaging technologies and direction for new packaging and packaging materials. 
  • Providing technical leadership for Sales and Marketing teams as required for new packaging developments and business support. 
  • Providing technical related communications to customers (e-mail, written letters, and formal presentations) when required.  
  • Supporting businesses with packaging prototypes, samples, technical analysis and recommendations. 
  • Developing and recommending annual budgets and expense spending for the Global Packaging Engineering department.  
  • Supporting team in conducting experiments, plant trials, testing for new packaging projects or major cost savings programs. 
  • Assuring that new or improved packages comply with all regulatory and safety directives and do not knowingly infringe on valid intellectual property estates.  
  • Collaborating with vendors to optimize, cost reduce, and specify raw materials. 
  • Writing, maintaining, and issuing specifications for packaging.   

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • B.S. degree in Package Engineering at an accredited University with a strong program in Package Engineering.  
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in packaging engineering and a proven track record of packaging innovations and implementation.  
  • Personnel leadership and management experience.
  • Manufacturing experience and project management experience. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in PC programs:  MS Office, MS Project, TOPS, AutoCAD, Score and Artios CAD
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and visual).
