Looking for a great opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge for a rapidly growing manufacturing company in western Wisconsin? We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong metal fabrication background and are an expert at new part/assembly introduction.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Project Manager and is part of a growing team.
This position will provide you with the responsibilities of:
- Managing new projects from input on design through production, determining processes and working with the QE to ensure all PPAP documentation is completed
- Working with estimating to ensure quotes are accurate
- Developing all necessary tooling and gauging required for the job
- Entering the part and assembly data into the ERP system including routings and structure
- Creating shop floor drawings for sub components
- Tracking all projects from quote to production and reporting on progress
- Managing the revisions
- Providing shop floor support when issues arise, driving to root cause and implementing all levels of the corrective action
- Creating, reviewing, and approving new and existing process documentation
- Processing ECN’s with regard to product improvement, cost reduction, or safety improvement
- Continually looking for better ways to process parts, reduce scrap, improve quality, reduce set up time and improve overall plant processes
- Working with Manufacturing and Purchasing to implement new cost saving designs, components, and techniques
- Working with Quality to determine root cause and corrective action on issues from internal or external suppliers/customers
JOB REQUIREMENTS
An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Bachelors degree Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering is desired, Associates Degree required
- 4 years experience in a fabrication production environment with a process and product improvement focus
- Excellent blue print reading skills
- Ability to generate drawings using AutoCAD or other software
- Strong familiarity with metal fabrication processes
- Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals
- Familiar with ISO quality systems
- Experience applying lean principles (5S, kaizen, value stream mapping, etc.)
