Maintenance Manager – Electrical – Controls 

Looking for a great opportunity to apply your maintenance management experience to a capital intensive processing operation in Northern Minnesota? We are looking for a seasoned Maintenance Manager with extensive electrical/controls experience in plants that have continuous processing equipment and centralized control systems. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position reports to the Senior Maintenance Manager and will provide you with the responsibilities of: 

  • Evaluating and improving the processes and procedures that drive the PM program
  • Ensuring the preventive maintenance program is providing the proper level of service coverage for each piece of equipment and unplanned down time is not a result of an inadequate PM program
  • Ensuring the equipment has the most up to date control systems and developing long range plans for upgrades
  • Evaluating the unplanned equipment downtime to establish the root cause for the issue and ensuring proper corrective action is taking place to fix the immediate issue and address the systemic issue
  • Ensuring the department has adequate resources to provide preventive maintenance inspection, repair and continual improvement
  • Continually improving the techniques used to predict machine failures and implementing those techniques into the standard operating procedures
  • Ensuring safety is considered a top priority at all times
  • Working with the Operations Managers to understand the long range capital plans and ensuring the PM programs are established for all new equipment
  • Managing a staff of Reliability Engineers, Electrical Engineers and Technicians and establishing programs that continually improve the skill level and effectiveness of the crew 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

An excellent candidate with have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree required in Electrical Engineering desired
  • A Minimum of 8 years in a Maintenance Management role in a capital intensive operation with an emphasis on electrical controls, 15 years equivalent experience acceptable without a degree
  • Experience with voltage up to 4160
  • Experience improving OEE with the latest techniques
  • Strong leadership abilities and proven experience upgrading the skills of your team
  • Experience establishing and improving the SOP’s that drive the process
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and statistical skills are required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Self starter – ability to work independently and relentlessly pursue improvements
