Human Resources Manager – Manufacturing 

Looking for an opportunity to apply your human resources management background with a growing manufacturing company located just northwest of the Twin Cities? Our client is looking for an energetic person with a strong background in manufacturing and benefits as well as continual process improvement with all HR policies. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

This position reports to the VP of Operations and will provide you with the responsibilities of:

  • Managing the workforce changes during stages of business growth and reduction
  • Managing the benefit program including administration and changes
  • Managing all activities for the recruiting and hiring new employees
  • Managing all aspects of the new employee orientation
  • Managing employee situations
  • Ensuring payroll is accurate and on time
  • Working with Supervisors on any new policy changes
  • Developing, maintaining and ensuring adherence to company procedures
  • Keeping employee files up to date, employee evaluations and performance reviews
  • Managing employee’s leaves of absence, FMLA, etc
  • Reviewing and maintaining the employee handbook
  • Establishing safety programs, communicating responsibilities, and ensuring policies stay current and meet OSHA requirements – be the key OSHA contact
  • Managing all aspects of the HR function with little support in a role that is very “hands-on” 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

An excellent candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree desired
  • A minimum of 5 years HR Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 years of related benefits experience
  • A positive “can do” attitude and willingness to handle any issue
  • The ability to communicate policies and ensure compliance
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with shop personnel and be the “go to” person for issues
